Bo Braze. author of

Bo Braze is a creative writer and worldwide
traveler-adventurer who has used his love of traveling throughout
65 countries in the world as a strong foundation for his
creative writing. He possesses more than 40 years of experience
as a technical writer in all fields of Dentistry. He was
a contributing editor for a technical magazine, Trends and
Techniques, for eight years and has written well over 100
articles on every genre concerned with modern day Dentistry.
Bo's writing credits also include two 16mm
color sound films on Vita porcelain and techniques in conjunction
with the Veteran's Administration. He has written and directed,
with Dr. Jack Preston, three video tapes for the NADL's
Wealth of Knowledge program on Internal Modifications and
Characterization of Dental Porcelains and numerous other
independent videos and movies for Dentists, Dental Technicians
and Dental Manufacturers throughout the world during his
55 years in Dentistry. Recently he was videotaped in Brazil,
Israel, Spain, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia and Mexico while
conducting seminars on "Esthetic and Intrinsic Modifications
and Characterizations of Dental Porcelains," "Porcelain
Butt Shoulder Techniques" and "Porcelain Laminate Veneer
Fabrication and Techniques."
Bo was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin and was
educated at the University of California at Sacramento.
He has served as Director of Curriculum and Ceramic Education
at Dental Technology Institute, Orange, California which
was affiliated with Santa Ana Junior College. Twelve years
of Bo's life was spent in the military performing Dental
Technology and managing dental clinics.
Nationally and internationally renowned, Bo
Braze GMT, a graduate of LVI, has conducted lectures, all
day seminars, workshops and hands-on clinics for Dentists,
Dental Technicians and Dental Auxiliaries in over 65 countries
throughout the world. He has covered subjects that touch
on all phases of Dentistry and Dental Technology and although
he is considered an expert in the Dental Ceramics and Crown
and Bridge specialties, he is equally versed and knowledgeable
in all aspects of laboratory technology and chair-side procedures.
His most recent international engagements
took him to Italy, Greece, Israel, Spain, Portugal and 9
countries in South America where he spoke and demonstrated
to over 30,000 Dentists, Auxiliaries and Dental Technicians.
During a more recent sojourn to Mexico, Bo spoke and demonstrated
to over 3,000 Dentists and Technicians at the University
of Mexico City and the Mexican Military Dental Corps. In
addition, he has been a featured speaker at many State Dental
Societies, Dental Laboratory State Societies, Dental Schools,
AGD Study Clubs, NBC Study Clubs, State Dental Assistant
Societies and Dental Technology Schools throughout the world.
Bo has been Director of Education for three
leading Dental Manufacturers, each of who are leaders in
the manufacturing, marketing, and sales of dental porcelains.
He has pioneered three major dental porcelains in the form
of Vita, WillCeram and Synspar, and during this period,
he was instrumental in testing and researching many new
alloys for the dental marketplace. Throughout his years
he has conducted seminars and lectures concerning the introduction
of new and exciting products not yet on the market through
his "What's New In Dentistry" programs.
Bo received his training during his service
with the United States Air Force, but he was United States
Navy-trained due to the lack of an Air Force dental technology
school at the time. He was also instrumental in experimentation,
research and application of the Cerestore system, one forerunner
of our modern day all-ceramic systems.
Bo is a member of the American and International
Association of Dental Researchers and proudly served as
a laboratory evaluator for Drs. Gordon and Rella Christiansen
and Clinical Research Associates for a period of 8 years.
In addition, he as served as Owner and President of New
Horizons Research and Development Corporation for the past
35 years, constantly researching and testing new dental
materials and techniques.
Since 2005, Bo has served as Senior Technical
Advisor of Education and Marketing for Glidewell Laboratories,
Newport Beach, California, the largest dental laboratory
in the world. He now writes scripts for technical education
videos and technically directs those videos.
In their leisure time, Bo and his wife, Laurie, enjoy country living, their numerous dogs and worldwide travel. They live in historic Greenlawn Plantation in Meridianville, Alabama. Russian Phoenix is Bo's first novel and is the first in a series.
